The Rhythm of Emotions
I’ve realized something important about myself: if you want to know how I feel, just look at the songs I’m listening to. Music carries my emotions better than I sometimes can.
Sometimes a lyric hits me in a way that makes me stop and reflect. A line about love, loss, or hope can feel like it’s speaking directly to me. Other times, the words simply remind me that I’m not alone in what I’m feeling.
It also works the other way around. I use music to change my mood. When I need energy, calm, or focus, I pick tracks that push me in that direction. A single song can turn a heavy day lighter or make me feel grounded again.
Lately I’ve been really into Latin music: Maluma, Don Omar, Becky G, Natti Natasha, or Son Cubano, Latin Jazz, Havana rhythms. The list goes on. Latin music especially has been giving me energy, joy, and helping me stay connected to my Spanish.
That’s why I wanted to write this blog. Because sometimes a song is more than just a song. It can be a reflection of how we feel, or a reminder that moods can shift. A lyric in one track might make me reflect, another might spark hope, and sometimes it is just rhythm that keeps me moving.
On a small side note, I finally got a job again. I still have to sign the contract, and I am still in disbelief, but I am really happy about it. It’s also a job that fits me pretty well, and it feels like another step forward.
Life has already changed so much since the start of this year, and I can feel the difference. There are fewer things holding me back now. I feel freer, lighter, and I’ll keep moving forward. Even if I don’t know exactly where it leads, I will pave the road myself to get where I want to be.
Paving the road.
